OBDeleven activation of Dynamic Light Assist for North American ID.4's

Picked up my 2022 ID4 PRO S AWD a month ago and now that I picked up an OBDEleven module I'm going to work to see if with the current software it is possible to enable the Dynamic Light Assist function found in the rest of the world. There is the work of @dg4prez and others trying to enable this in the general OBDEleven master thread, but it seems like working in another thread until (🤞) the procedure is fully figured out.

The information provided by @JimmyVW will be crucial.

Details on how it worked for some Aertons:

When you speak of “Dynamic Light Assist”, to what, exactly, are you referring?
  • The steerable headlamps of some ID.4 trim levels?

  • A matrix LED headlamp system that provides more-complete beam steering?

  • Or something entirely different?

And which cars have hardware that can support these various schemes?
He's talking about matrix lighting. The part numbers for the headlamp modules in at least 2021 1st Edition and 2021 Pro S cars match what's been in EU cars that have matrix lighting. I assume this carried over to 2022 higher end models.
Thanks — That's what I assumed but I thought I'd ask!

This might explain an oddity I've noticed whereby there's a slight difference in the high beams when you switch between Automatic High Beams and Always-On High Beams. The top cut-off beam gets slightly higher, as if an additional row of LEDs was turned on. (The weird shadow slots at the center-tops of the beams don't seem to move so it doesn't seem like the steerable headlamps are creating this effect.)

Although I have coding in my background, I "just drive" and consider the headlights to be magic beyond my ken.
As far as I know, the whole headlight thing works using flash salamanders. :) 'Good thing there aren't any vampires around!
