*yes, i'm aware that you can unlock video while driving here. it's a terrible idea. don't do it.

Once this is changed you need to first lock the vehicle. Then unlock with driver A key, sit down adjust seat/mirrors, save to memory 1, exit and lock. Repeat the same for Diver B / Memory 2. The key fob memory does not work with proximity unlock, you must click the unlock button on the remote for your settings to be recalled.

Turn off the friggin' alarm horn
Module 09 - Central Electrics
Adaptations
Diebstahlschutz.Modulsoftware
Akustischer Alarm ueber Hupe
not_active
Important note - this disables the horn sounding when you lock the car or hit the panic button in your pants, and presumably when the car door is opened. So you're basically disabling your alarm system. From what I can tell the primary purpose of the alarm system is to scare the bejeezus out of the car owner from time to time, so for me this is acceptable - if it's not to you, don't do it. I continue to look for better ways to do this.

Disable carplay/android auto on USB ports - Tested on 3.1

I've gotten myself an ODB Eleven module, since apparently they've partnered with VW to allow unlocking modules, which is super cool. Figured we could use a post to talk about potential modifications and the like.

I'm not familiar with their system at all, and thus far haven't actually figured anything out. My main focus thus far has been changing the output volume of the external speakers and changing the DSP curve to something that doesn't boost the rear treble. Swing and a miss on both. Anyone else got one of these?
What subscription did you get? You might need the Pro to change those codings.

Did you get to the screen with EQ settings that @idfurkan showed in his post?

Its a great tool and you can use it to make some pretty cool mods. Just be carefull, make a backup of the module data before making a change, and note (screenshot) your changes so you can always revert back. Personally i'd say don't mess with things that even remotely sniff like safety (brakes) or drive train. It might turn your car into a pretty heavy paperweight if messed with to much.

another important advice: there is a setting in there to reset a module. NEVER EVER do that. As it will wipe the module empty from all VW made settings. Normally with the VW OTIS tool, it then has the option to grab the defaults from the online database and push those back in. that is something you can't with OBD11, as you don't have access to the database. (hence make a backup before touching any module)
I've seen to many posts from people doing mods, getting unexpected results, and thinking that the reset button will help them revert everything back to how it was....
Only to learn they are now in a much deeper mess.

OBDEleven has several one-click apps now available for the ID4. Also was able to get Easy Entry seats enabled for both the driver and passenger seats (USA).

#11 ·
The available one-click apps are listed here: https://obdeleven.com/en/supported-vehicles
Just chose the ID.4. Most of the one-clicks are 10 credits. The video while driving (for passenger) is 100. The credits are listed in the app while connected to the vehicle. I can get you a specific one, but I’d have to be connected to the vehicle to get it for you. I have long coded Easy Entry seats for free. Hope this helps.

Note there are many bad reviews on buying it from amazon saying they didn't get the 400 credits or a year pro subscription as advertised (you need for the apps.) You get those for apps + coding if you order from their website (but I am not sure how long shipping might be, site says 7-30 working days in the United States and Canada. Due to the COVID-19 situation, some orders may be delayed and delivery could extend up to 4 weeks. ):

Edit: On an Audi forum, I found this good info: The OBDEleven basic and OBDEleven Pro are actually the exact same device. The only thing you're paying for is for them to send you a printed code on a piece of paper, which they may or may not remember to include. You're better off buying the basic and if you need to do edits, you can then purchase the PRO version within the APP through the Google Play store. It is the exact same thing.

#18 ·
That's what I did, from Amazon USA, as unsure of my use. Can always add Pro later.

I’ve been trying to see if the iq light can be enabled using the same method as the new arteons, but so far I’ve not found it to be a 1:1 match. That said I haven’t had much time and a lot of the database is still German so I need to translate and see what’s what. I’m hoping that i can find a way to increase the “hands off the wheel” time as well.

#24 ·
Not sure what super high beam is but iq light is their term for the adaptive lighting system. The arteon guys in the us figured out how to activate them so I’m betting we can do the same.

here’s the arteon instructions.

Activating Dynamic Light Assist on 21+ Arteons only

• You will need OBDEleven Pro in order to activate DLA. The pro version allows for long coding which you will need for at least one step.

• Pop hood. Hood doesn’t need to be fully opened, just popped open. This is a new requirement for 21+ Arteons.

1. Go into control unit 09 Central Electrics

• Select “Adaptations”

• Find “Fernlicht Assistent” and select it

• Change “Erweiterte Fernlichtsteuerung” to AFS FLA Fernlicht (GLW:MDF)

• Change “Menusteuerung Fernlichtassistent” to present

• Menusteuerung Fernlichtassisten Worksteinstellung” needs to be set to present as well

but it should already be that way.

• Slide to write, select code

2. Go into control unit A5 Driver Assistance

• Select “Long Coding”

• Find “AFS coding Light Assist”

• Change to “Dynamic Light Assist”

• Slide to write, select code

o On your infotainment screen select “Car” then select “Settings” then “Lights”. “Dynamic Light Assist” should now appear in the menu. Make sure it is selected if it is not already.

3. Go into control unit 4B Multifunction Module

• Select “Long Coding”

• Select 01010110 tab

• Find Byte 10

• Scroll to bit 6 and select it.

• Slide to write, select code

• Back out to main control unit 4B Multifunction Module screen

• Make sure headlights are on Auto position

• Select “Basic Settings”

• Select “Basic headlamp setting”

• Slide to write, select code (It may seem nothing happens but it is)

• Select “Acknowledge basic setting”

• Slide to write, select code (Headlights should spread apart and/or adjust up and down, if

not just proceed to next step anyways)

• Back out to main screen

Disconnect OBDEleven from Bluetooth and remove Bluetooth module

Shut off ignition, close hood, start car and drive around. In order to activate DLA, you’ll need to push the turn signal stalk forward once. On your dash where the high beam indicator is you should now see a white A with an arrow around it. This indicates DLA is active and ready to turn on as conditions warrant. Conditions for DLA to turn on: Headlight switch is set to auto, you’re driving over 37 mph, and only when it’s completely dark out. Even street lights will cause DLA to shut off. When DLA is actually on and in use the indicator will change to blue and your headlights will start dancing around other cars.

Push it again to manually force your fixed high beams on or pull towards you to flash someone. I highly recommend running the high beam assist memory app so that DLA is always activated. Otherwise you’ll have to manually activate DLA each time you start your car. You’ll also need to manually activate DLA any time you turn your headlight switch from the Auto position. The high beam assist memory app only works if you keep your headlight switch in the Auto position at all times.

Yeah, what I call super high beams, is what they call DLA I guess. It’s not only that it masks out other cars, but also adds some really powerfull leds that allow you to drive as if it’s full daylight. I don’t have the 37 mile minimum speed requirement though. Am pretty sure mine switch on already at half that speed.
I can try to make a video of it in the near future.

thing is, this feature is either added or massively improved in 2.3, so not sure if you can get it working in 2.1.

Have found all settings they mentioned in the Arteon Post above, except for the one in 4B, but As the car doen any have a 4B, I’m assuming that it might not be needed.

point of reflection: Am not sure if it is wise to discuss the options openly here though because of 2 reasons:
1. Legality of changing the US car to do things that aren’t fully in compliance with regulations
2. People trying to copy settings and messing up their car due to inexperience.

Could use a bit of guidance in that aspect. @Huey52 I’d appreciate the view of the forum moderators in this matter.

We did balk at in-depth discussion of how to electrically disable the pedestrian warning audible, given a safety item.

Conversely, setting Lane Keeping Assist to "last input" is not an issue as a user preference item.

But we'll take them on a case by case basis. Thanks for asking.

From what I can find in my car and comparing to the values mentioned above:

The first one is in module A5 -> longcoding

then in A19 gateway module -> adaptations these two need to be adjusted:
1.
2.

and finally it would be wise to check this option regarding all distances, etc:

Curious to see the settings on a US car, to compare the differences.

#37 ·
BTW: @Islander
I’m guessing that some of the settings under the light button module should allow you to work around your lights not being able to turn off for the ferry.

I haven’t tested it, and my German is a bit rusty but I think you can set:
LTM Beleuchtung Geschwindigkeits Swelle to 15KMH
(Speed at which the lights turn on?)
As well as Licht Reactivierings Grenze to 255m
(Distance after which the light is turned on?)

Both numbers mentioned seems the max value for those parameters. Not sure if that is enough.

Other option to possibly try might be to set the following to inactive: LTM BGL Geschwindigkeitsabhängig.
That should tell the system that the lights are not dependent on speed (I think!)
But again, my German is a bit rusty and it are guesses, so all at your own risk ofcourse!

Wow, this is incredible information! Thank you so much, very grateful here.

Cool, those modifications you listed are the same as the ones in the arteon guide, just in a different location, which is what i suspected we'd have. Having made those changes I do have light assist listed as an on/off in the settings, but it doesn't appear to do anything yet. I suspect it is due to us missing this bit below. We don't have a multifunction module, so we're going to need to find the equivalent module in our cars.

Go into control unit 4B Multifunction Module
• Select “Long Coding”
• Select 01010110 tab
• Find Byte 10
• Scroll to bit 6 and select it.
• Slide to write, select code
• Back out to main control unit 4B Multifunction Module screen
