Hi,
I found it odd at the beginning that there is no sound being played while I lock the car.
Then after digging into the infotainment system I somehow found a way to make it play a sound.
Now it's so obnoxious that I get embarrassed doing it.
Is there any way to tone it down a notch perhaps?
Or what is the best way to lock the car as you leave it. I have seen on one of the VW tips videos that you have to gently touch the door handle for it to lock. Is that going to work only on FE models? These tips videos are not specific which feature is found in which model.

Can confirm the door handle touch also works on the US version of the Pro S. As far as the sound, I think it's either on or off, but I haven't checked for sure - I've had it on and left it on.

Don't know if this helps, but I usually look at the side mirrors to show whether the doors have been locked. They fold in after you hit the lock button.
Only applies to the FE and Pro S models. Pro doesn't have power folding mirrors.

Hate that frigging noise. Why does my neighbor feel the need to announce to the entire neighborhood at 6 am that he's locked his car? Guy at work drives his wife's car occasionally that sounds like a dying goose when he locks it. Funny at work, but we give him s**t that he must hate his neighbors since he arrives home at 11:30 PM.

Hopefully the updated Car Net will provide door lock status.

I'm not sure about the Pro model, but my Pro S also has a little red light that blinks for a little while right after locking it (it is located on the driver's door right next to the windshield). Along with the folded mirrors I also check to see if that is blinking.

I tried turning it on and man, that is obnoxious!! A little beep would be nice.
LOL... Out of curiosity I also tried this out... It wouldn't be as bad if they cut the duration by 75%. I only gave it a once around before I turned it off. But while I was trying this I noticed the red led on my key continued to flash after I locked my car. I'm not sure what this is about but in my GSW and Tiguan I would see it blink a few times when I started the car but never flash continuously after locking.

Clearly I'm an idiot... seems that when you are in close proximity (20 feet with walls) the key begins to communicate with the car.

My across the street neighbor routinely checks his driveway parked vehicle locks after 11:00p with the typically obnoxious accompanying beep/light flashing. As an even-more-elder I guess he leaves it enabled to also find his car in a parking lot. 🤷‍♂️
If ours is that "good" then perhaps I should enable mine and do likewise later at night. Nah .... ;)

Since my Pro doesn't have power folding side mirrors, the click sound of locking is too subtle to hear (and you usually don't look at the lights on the side mirrors to confirm when you tap the little sensor on the door handle). When I double-check it by locking it again, that long beep startles me every time. it'd be great if VW shortens the sound.
