"never" is a really subjective word. What if someone got a car on a 3 year lease, what are the odds they never see an update in those 3 years? Pretty close to 100%. I bought mine with the intent of keeping it and passing it down after ten years or so. What are my odds? Well, that's a good question...

The good news is I got the "Software-Update" e-mail from VW-USA ; and they have me included in their database for the software update. The bad news is that they don't seem to have it together yet. This is first indication that my '21 ID.4 RWD (manf'd. date Sep '21) is on their update list.
Hope my dealer; McKenna VW, Huntington Beach, CA is getting good info too.

I hate to acknowledge it, but mission accomplished!
Even back in December, I was saying that most people wouldn't get any sort of update until Q1/Q2. VW may still prove me wrong, but I am going to stick with that prediction.

I don't expect any sort of notice of resumption for at least a few weeks.

It would seem that there is a culture of vranʹjó that has permeated the corporate culture of Volkswagen.

While vranʹjó originates & permeates in Russian culture, for the past 3 generations such a behavior has permeated the eastern half of Germany. With unification, vranʹjó is still happening in the workplace in this company's workforce. VW being the largest employer in Germany, the Bundestag has for decades passed legislation to entrench the culture.

The market-speak of the rare communications we get for the repeated empty pledges (the repeated hooks that the consumer swallow) on this model (as well as other VW models with issues) is fully on display with the revolving door of management & software "teams" that have come & gone.

The high & low? 3rd Quarter of 2024 is when a stable software package will be made available. (i.e. 6 months after my lease comes to term)

I had to look up the definition of that term. From the company's founding to dieselgate to now I would say that term is spot on.

Your note is probably better put in one of the other active recall threads vs one about the original planned software update for the car. :)

Regardless, if there is no repair available, there is no use setting up service to get that specific issue repaired. The Schedule Service bubble was always in the app on that screen, even before the recall showed up. If you setup service for this issue, your dealer is probably going to cancel your appointment or worse you'll waste a bunch of your own time to talk to a service representative at your dealer who will not have anything to help you.
