OTA download takes forever?

The progress bar for an OTA update has been stuck in the same position for weeks now. How long does it take for a download to typically complete?

The update doesn't have a release number, but has this message:

Over-the-Air Update information
  • Improved display of future release notes
  • Required update to ensure future information is displayed correctly
I bought a 2023 ID.4 Pro used a few months back, and it has completed one OTA in the time I've had it.

I don’t recall ever seeing the progress bar involved in an update. They download in the background while you drive and then you install them with the car, parked and locked. Can you post a screenshot of what you’re ?

Oh, I recall that weird little one… that took like 10 seconds. I’d reboot the screen and try again, unless someone has a better idea?

Push the Infotainment power button in and hold until the screen goes dark. Takes like 10 seconds. The Infotainment screen will reboot. If the update didn't take, it will probably ask you to accept the update again.

The update in question was an Infotainment update and not a software update that affects the modules of the car, like ID software update 3.1 to 3.5. Those take weeks to download in the background and when finally prompted to download may take a few hours to complete with the doors locked and you staying away from the car. You will not see a progress bar with the ID software updates. It's also wise to do any of the updates with a strong 4G signal.
