Are the USB ports a way in to the car's audio amplifier?

I have a device that outputs USB digital signal and am curious if it will work.

Does the media centre accept digital audio inputs?

Any one have any info on this or links please?

Playing My Media from USB Memory

Likely everyone else figured this out before I did . . . . but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, so . . . . We're old fashioned in that we've been playing our favorite music from USB memory in all our vehicles for . . . . years :ROFLMAO: We've accumulated about 750 of our favorite songs...

It can read media files off of a USB storage device but I don't think it acts as a USB audio class 1 or 2 receiver.
