I’ve noticed a popping sound underneath my ID.4 while charging using Electrify America charges. It feels like a quick hammer pop on the metal. You can definitely feel that pop while seating in the car. Sometimes happens after 5 mins or sometimes after 20. Always pretty random. Sometimes doesn’t happen at all. Lately, it’s been happening more often.

I am with you on this one as well. I have noticed the popping noise when charging on a cold morning at EA. Until I saw your post I thought it was just me. Sorry, I don't have an explanation as to why, although the Tesla link makes sense.

Metal expansion and contracting is what you hear.... there is on the bottom coolant loop that will cause this noise when exposed to temperature changes...regarding breather valve that will not be something you hear but top cover shield on HV Battery pack.
Completely normal and nothing to be worried about.

Great to hear this is a normal sound. Briefly thought my battery was going to self combust. Last 24 hours vehicle was in temperatures below 64 F. Early afternoon fast charged at 150 kW rate when temperatures were close to 85 F. Right passenger bottom heard a loud THUMP 5 min into charging session and then 15 min later driving back heard an identical one on the driver side floor.

If it is happening more often you should make some video recordings and bring it to service department for inspection. If you have car scanner app try to record all modules temperatures while charging...if delta between modules are higher than 10°F there could be air pockets in the cooling plate.
If you can provide this information here i will be happy to provide more details.

OK thx...seems like no other id4 owners so far have reported actual air pockets...more likely it's benign?

I do have a bafx obd2 scanner...I'll check out the temps next time.
Keep watching all module temperatures when charging.
And in next session try to watch all cells when charging for deltaV.
Post some information and i will try to see what is going on.
And little question do you have big change in elevation when coming to the fast DC charging location?
