Overboost mode of instant 20kw
Plug&charge function (only ionity?)
Smartphone use as a key
Fix of schedule charging

In out of spec road trip road, kyle's model had red and green strip for the battery level.
And they hinted at faster charging
The red was because he was almost empty……Run yours low and you’ll see red also…. For me, I haven’t seen red and pretty much hope not to… 😁

If my math is right... we are in week 24 now, right? That is a solid list of upgrades, many we have been hoping for on the ID.4.

Overboost sounds like it will have a temporary power boost at wide open throttle. That's how Porsche (VW Group) uses that term. Maybe that makes it to the ID.4? Maybe not?

Youtube can translate subtitles on the fly, I might give that a shot.

Also, I see Auto-hold on his dashboard when he pulls away. Did ID.3 have this in v2.1?

After endlessly talking about his new camera setup, the guy is mainly discussing what he thinks could be possible in 2.2 and beyond. the screenshot at the start is typical clickbait.

VW said that 2.2 would only be released on the GTX, and that 2.3 will be the first true OTA update for all, and would be coming the second week of September.

So the description says "Was ist bekannt, was Spekulation, was Wunsch?" - what is known, what is speculated, what is desired.
Not everything mentioned therefore is cast in stone. He is still running 2.1 on his drive here and is just discussing possible updates.

@7:10 1st point was the +20kW boost mode - which he surmises should be coming because the Cupra elBorn has it already.
@12:50 In-App Shop. purchasing some additional software options - no real specifics of what, but possibly one time additions or subscription based options that can be cancelled later. (expected in version 2.3 not 2.2)
@18:50 speculates about some UI modifications - doesn't expect major changes.
@22:20 plug & charge
@22:40 - VW has never published an actual 'Release Notes' for the update
@22:45 possible bug fixes - he wishes there would be a self test you could run - he hopes for scheduled charging fix, says no concrete acknowledgement from VW that this is a problem.
@25:35 ID.Connect (Car Net in the US) He hopes for Keyless locking on exit and remote unlock, fob-less operation (phone only)
@27:40 Car Share functionality not yet present
Would love to see a Road Map for future versions - like modern software development is done.

*KW24 (Calendar Week 24 not KiloWatt)

Lots of speculative chatter, very little substance. Overboost and higher charge rate seem to be advertised in their (The German) configurator, so that seems solid enough. The rest is pure speculation.

I also noticed a much higher noise level in the ID3 compared to my ID4, and the similarly loud noisemaker. Those two items made it at least worth my time. :)

I will lose my mind if the next OTA doesn't include a fix for scheduled charging.
Better not to expect it and be pleasantly surprised; just in case…..

I can forgive a lot of stuff, but letting cars languish without a functional feature that is expressly advertised (VW has a video on how to set it up for gods sake!) is a step too far. This fix should be a top 3 priority.

What's your other 2?
Tbh I only said top 3 to hedge against the possibility that some of the real showstopper issues (ie car has to be towed etc) can be fixed via OTA update. For the obvious software stuff, this is clearly #1. There are entire pages in the manual devoted to this functionality, this is not a obscure side feature.

Why can't they just include a simple "time set scheduling" charge feature like Tesla does? I just plug in my model 3 and set the charging to start at midnight to take advantage of the lower electricity rates.
They overengineered the system to try to make it location based + timer based. I have to imagine it's the location potion of it that is broken. There's no way the timer portion is busted since preconditioning works fine on a timer.

it is the location feature that is the problem - and it's screwing up the scheduler, which is rather weird, since you could just ignore the location.
Luckily, I have a Chargepoint, so can run it through their app...
