Is the Euro camera better than the USA camera? I haven’t seen anything about that and I read a LOT of forums, LOLHas anyone done this where they've replaced the US spec camera with the European? Is it plug and play or will it need re-programming?
Have you seen something to indicate EU ID.4 has a different backup camera than the US? They are the same as best as I can tell.Has anyone done this where they've replaced the US spec camera with the European? Is it plug and play or will it need re-programming?
Is there a reason you are asking this question? Do you know of a difference between the cameras?Has anyone done this where they've replaced the US spec camera with the European? Is it plug and play or will it need re-programming?
Lol, I hope the Euro sees cyclists. The only difference is with the European camera you can see baguettes and expresso shops...
The US ID.4 has a wide angle view that can be switched in to.I think I read somewhere or someone mentioned that the camera has better resolution than the US spec camera and you can change the view as well.
It’s only on the top spec trims here. The US ID.4 has a wide angle view that can be switched in to.
I'm sure this isn't news to anybody that the 360 option that's available in Europe is comprised of images stitched from four cameras.
I've been wondering the same thing. The European camera is much higher resolution. Im tempted to buy and try it out. Depending on the cost. Do you have any updates on this?Has anyone done this where they've replaced the US spec camera with the European? Is it plug and play or will it need re-programming?
How does the assembly line know where the ID4 is headed and then which camera to install?I've been wondering the same thing. The European camera is much higher resolution. Im tempted to buy and try it out. Depending on the cost. Do you have any updates on this?
And the VIN determines EU or NA options?I don't know about the difference in cameras, but every chassis rolling down the assembly line begins with a VIN and a build sheet associated with that VIN.
Yeah, absolutely. And they often know exactly which dealership that VIN is headed to before the build even begins, but always definitely the country. Here's an example of an old VW printed build sheet pulled from the VW Vortex forums. I'm sure this is more computerized now, but probably not too different. And the VIN determines EU or NA options?
Did you put on the camera shade? And does it help?Lol, I hope the Euro sees cyclists.
I was in a 45° nose-in parking space with a bike lane running behind me, so should have had a clear view in broad daylight of any cyclists coming at me, but they're like pixelated ghosts until they're really close. Really gotta examine the screen to see them. VW owes this car a less sucky camera
