Three times now I've had the lift gate open on my while installing a bike rack in the hitch receiver. This results in the gate hitting the metal post of the bike rack. No major damage done yet, but it has resulted in some paint damage. Anyone else seen this or have a way to prevent it other than not having the key with you during this procedure?
You should also be able to avoid this by leaving the fob off of your person while installing the bike rack, right? The easy entry feature only works when a fob is detected in close proximity to the rear, I'm pretty sure.
