Does anyone have any insight/guesses/inside information about the status of the Pro S Plus AWDs? My estimated delivery changed from Oct-Nov 2022 to Q1 2023.

I remember reading about the memo to a Canadian dealer about part shortage and delay of production until November, does that apply to US models too? Have any actual Pro S Plus AWD trims even been produced? It's likely the highest margin (in terms of profit) so I would think VW would be prioritizing their production...

I got the same email and truthfully, I could not be angrier.
And before I rant... for anyone who says I should just get a Pro S, bite me.

I ordered a car with a specific trim level and VW has pulled the rug out from under all of us. We were the customers ready to spend the most amount of money for their new EV and they shoved a telephone pole right up our collective asses.

Getting a $300 price reduction, after a $1500 increase, and being told you may not get your car until Christmas- 18 months after many of us first ordered one is just insane.

What VW should have done is FIRST-- Get the damned mirrors and 360 view cameras working. This equipment has been on cars for years now, how did they screw it up on the ID4? I don't want to hear about supply issues because that is just a lie. If they can't get a supplier to make this stuff for them, they should be in another business.

Second- the price should drop by AT LEAST $1500.

Third- For anyone leasing a current VW, they should pay for my lease extension until a properly equipped ID.4 arrives.

Every other manufacturer of EVs has turned out cars with a minimum of issue except VW. They should be embarrassed at their incompetence for the rest of their lives.

I have not received this email yet ... and when I go to my reservations page, the list of features for my reserved Pro S Plus still includes the power mirror and 360 degree view. Also, the Build Your ID.4 page on the VW sales site continues to show this equipment. I can't imagine they're going to stiff existing reservation holders and offer this equipment to new buyers. But, just saying.

@Islander The status in the wheel of torture hasn't changed for me yet either, even though I got the email. It is probably still shown in the build area because they aren't taking orders anymore, and there are a few Plus models that did release, with those features.

This is just a theory as to why you haven't received the email, but maybe they first sent the letter to the group of us that was at 15-1 or beyond who got moved back to 03 a couple of weeks ago. I see you have stayed at 10 status.

Holy crap, what an insult!

The 360 area view camera AND the power folding mirrors (with memory) are getting axed, and they're only taking $300 off the price?

Where can I sign up to have power folding mirrors installed on my Pro S for $300? I don't even need the memory feature, the power folding is good enough

Another one at 10 that didn’t get the note yet. Reserved May 7. I bought a different vehicle last month but if I were legitimately still waiting I’d cancel. I tolerated the bigger wheels and silver accents. I didn’t want them. I wanted the 360 camera. For anyone looking for alternatives, I’m really happy with my Ford Mustang Mach E Premium AWD. It dropped to $55,900 in Feb when Tesla price dropped. Folding mirrors, 360 camera. They removed hands free trunk opening and self park on the 23s but weren’t critical features for me.

Holy crap I'm so sorry for you all, this is nuts. I mean there really isn't much left to even come close to justifying the price premium of the Plus now, and now pushing it to December?? I'm so so glad I bailed at the beginning of February, very happy with my Mach-e which still has all of these features (and gets almost weekly updates lately).

You have been waiting a long time! I'm sorry to hear that you also received the letter as it seems that some people who order the Plus have not received it.

It is so strange that VW has still not updated our reservation page with the pricing or date change.

Long time reader, first time poster.

I have a Tourmaline Blue AWD Pro S Plus reservation, have had it since April 18 of last year. I didn't receive the email that others have received, and haven't noticed a change in my reservation on the website. I called my dealership today and spoke to my rep, he said he's heard the changes are happening to every Pro S Plus reservation, regardless if you've received an email or not. I was able to lock down an AWD Pro S in Pure Gray that's going to be arriving in the next week or two, and I'll be rolling with that one instead. I was really looking forward to that blue color, but considering it's barely being manufactured right now, and my 218K mile car is on its dying breath, I had to move forward now. Hope that helps everyone who hasn't received the email yet.

I'm in a bit of the same boat as you. A vehicle with 188,000 miles that is going to need more repairs than what it is worth. Unfortunately, my dealer doesn't have any AWD models in stock nor any on the way just yet. The rumor was that the letter would give us the option of a Pro S in same color we ordered with the same time frame for delivery, but evidently that was just a rumor since we didn't get that option. Someone posted that they spoke to customer care, and they would let them change to a Pro S, but they would get bumped to the end of the line. Maybe it doesn't matter at this point because VW seems to have kicked all the Pro S Plus reservation holders to the end of the line, with the revised July-December ETA.

Really amazing for a company to tell the people who can afford the most expensive trim to basically suck an egg.

Sounds like a very large group of people at VW need to take Marketing 101 over again.. several thousand times.

May 7, 2022 reservation. Has never moved past 10. I haven't received the "we don't want your business, we're not so secretly hoping you cancel your order since we can't make the car we promised you" email. I moved on in February and got a different EV but have kept my order to help out my dealer. I wonder if the dealer even still wants a Pro S Plus (Minus) to sell. Who is really going to want them? If my date does move to July-December I will probably just cancel. I don't feel like making an interest free loan to VW for a year and a half.
