Anyone know how these work? Every once in awhile I see that cool pattern of light from my door and remember it's a feature, but I don't know what makes it come on. I'm unable to make it come on purposefully. Any tips?

They seem to come on whenever I open the door (at least with low ambient light levels).

For me, these lights appear whenever I approach the car with the key in my pocket. I find that if I stand in the center of the image, I am able to lock/unlock the doors without any trouble. If I stand too far toward the back of the car (about a foot outside the image), then I cannot lock the car without pressing the button on the key.
