Question : My car lives in a cold garage during the winter (typically in the low 30's this time of year, sometimes colder). When I turn on the climate control to prewarm the car in the morning, is it also bringing the battery to a good operating temperature? Or is it just pre-warming the cabin?

It warms the battery to 25-32F if it can reach that temp within the short time you are warming the cabin. This is not a "good operating temp" but it is the min. operating temp. For all the temps that the car uses see:

I can confirm this - it doesn't precondition (the way YouTube reviewers use the word - like Tesla does where it heats it up to 40C or something to get ready for super fast DC charging) but it does warm the battery from it's frozen slumber up above freezing. I often notice after I precondition that the BMS reads 1-2% higher state of charge despite not charging; I believe this is from LiIon cells being warmer and reporting higher voltage.
