I think the intersting underlying issue in this thread is whether VW's eventual support for V2X will be DC or AC. Given some of their European publications (too lazy to search now) featured a 22 kW DC charger, I would expect them to support DC-based V2X, and then a home DCFC install might be interesting. The other question is of course whether our existing ID4s will eventually support V2X via software update.

If you don't care about any of the above you should probably not look to DC chargers at all and limit yourself to a 60A 240V supply line and a 11 kW AC EVSE.

My question would be "why"? Is there a reason why you cannot charge at home over a period of hours?

I'm part owner of Portland General Electric, though, so my best wishes to you getting that done and paid ;)

Like I said, it's a little indulgent — I'm sure I'll be fine with a fancy L2. Part of me just wants to be ready for the day I get home from a long trip and need to run errands immediately.

The original question was about recommendations for DCFC at home. I'll constrain my list to DC charging at home, at all levels of availability from potential to actual, that I've run across:
This is a great list, thank you!

Not available in my area (idk why region would be an issue — I've emailed and asked), but this looks promising and gives me hope there will be something better than L2 soon if not now!
I talked with dcbel a couple of weeks ago. They said they will certify their r16 in February and they will have a warehouse in California. I’d think availability will be in Q2. Their box is very compelling as it has the bidirectional charger and suppor for both DC and AC charging as well as an inverter for solar and a stationary battery manager.
