I'm curious about whether people think AWD is worth the extra money in an EV.

My understanding is that FWD and AWD improved traction in vehicles whose heavy engines put the center of balance very far forward, but that the center of gravity in EVs is much further back, so RWD should still have very good traction.

Another consideration is that certain options can only be obtained in the AWD version of the car. The electrically-heated windshield comes to mind. To me, that's a very valuable option, probably more so than (what I consider to be a relatively-poor implementation of) AWD.
