We never considered RWD in Kansas. My wifes car also and she drives about 45 miles round trip to work everyday so safety for her was priority. We bought the AWD PRO S and she loves this car. In fact, she said the other day that she likes it so much she would buy another. We had an AWD Tiguan SEL Premium R-Line prior to this. I have no use for a 2WD truck either, but that's just me. We live in rural eastern Kansas, if you need AWD or 4WD once for me it's worth it.

Another thing and most importantly to keep in mind is to buy what your wife wants. So for us, it was an AWD

The first time you need AWD is when you don't have it, or something like that
