Has anyone taken their ID4 into the dealer for the seatbelt recall. If so what did they do? I have an appointment in a few days, but not sure if it is worth the time since the dealer is a hour+ trip each way. Not even sure if I want to go to the dealer. It seems often when I leave the dealer something is wrong that was not wrong when taking it in!

I’m bundling my warranty check with my 10k “service” next week. I am 1.5hrs away and wouldn’t do it any other way.

I hit a nail and had to have my tire repaired. The dealership visually inspected the seatbelts to confirm that they were the "US" versions, rather than the European versions.

If I am interpreting the letter correctly, even if you have the "defect", this really only matters if you are using a child's car seat without using the latch systems - i.e., using only the seat belt to secure the child's seat. I don't think "adult" functionality is hampered, nor is the use of the latch systems for child safety seats. Anyone have a different interpretation?

Yes, this was my understanding too. And if I'm interpreting the letter correctly, it's very easy to check yourself if you have the 'defect' or not. When you pull US seat belts out all the way, they go into a lock mode, where they can't extend any further until they have retracted all the way back in. My understanding is that the defect would be a seat belt that didn't do this (other than the drivers belt.)

I am taking our ID.4 tomorrow morning. Before I made the appointment I inquired about the dealer having the parts. The service guy said they check to see if parts are required then and only then will they order parts. He then volunteered that none of the ID.4s people have brought in so have not needed any parts.
