Yes.So this mean no updates to 3.1, until further notice?
I think there is a lot of truth to this.An optimistic guess - They needed a sample update from a few ID.4s for each possible configuration, and they received enough samples to go re-work the update process for a broad release. That combined with a rumored US based update server.

Or I'm in denial that they could go 90% of the way there and give up...
Or, an opportunity to buy to a risk taker.looks like any kind of resale value on the 2021 id.4 just tanked.

If we play the numbers game, what was it something likeI hope your right
The number of 2021/2022 vehicles is much smaller than that. 16,742 ID.4's were sold in the US in 2021. 20,511 were sold in 2022 - 2021 and 2022 models combined. If we play the numbers game, what was it something like 100k ID.4s that need a dealership visit? (FE, 2021s, a few 2022)
Better place your order soon; heard that delivery dates is slipping into late March or April for Model Y; if you're looking at tax credits.Yikes, that may decide it. Have really been trying to convince myself to give VW the benefit of the doubt on software updates and support, but really doesn't seem like they deserve it. Given that, I guess we may be spending a bit more money and getting a model Y or Ioniq 5.
Note that this update is only relevant to 2021 and some 2022 model year cars - a new one already comes with the newer software.Yikes, that may decide it. I understand that, but (and I realize this is different for other people), I don't trust VW at this point. If 2021 vehicles are screwed now, I have to assume 2022 and 2023 are similarly going to be left behind in short order. Now maybe that won't happen, and maybe this is just a pause to fix things, but who knows, nothing about this suggests a company that is close to fixing its software problems. We're close to pulling the trigger on a 22 pro-s, but this may be the nail in that coffin. Nothing I can do but wait and see, it's just baffling how they're kneecapping such an otherwise great product (sorry for the mini rant and obviously as only a potential buyer, those that are actually stuck with one of these vehicles are in a much worse place)Note that this update is only relevant to 2021 and some 2022 model year cars - a new one already comes with the newer software.
