Hopefully soon, the delay is likely due to several factors; 1) The US ID4 is different in a number of ways No HUD, Different Tailights with no Animation features, No Auto Hold and a couple of other differences 2) We use a totally different APP CarNet instead of We Connect, as the way to start the update process at the moment requires WeConnect.

I wondered why the taillights on the id.4 were so boring. Are they different on non-US models?

In my EU model the lights animate when i unlock the car. And I even can select a couple of different animation styles. I had no idea that US version could be different???

Yes - the EU models have multiple lights, and there are little animations that can run. Sort of a cute parlor trick, but that's about it.
The update to 2.3 is in Europe currently being rolled out in a few waves. Completion of that will take another 6 to 8 weeks.

VW is very tightlipped on the US region. Not a word on that yet

Edit: taillight animations

I believe there are regulatory issues preventing modern headlamps/tail lights on any US car. Maybe EU ones can be retrofitted?

It just baffles me that they don't want to try and build a little excitement by describing their planning.

I saw this, then went out and checked the BlueGhost because I thought I had seen the tail lights on selection when approaching car. It appeared on the menu and then it disappeared when I tried to select that option. Then I no longer had a scrollbar to return to that option! I'll try it again later... my wife thinks this VW has a mind of its own, and changes things for its own personal amusement!

It baffles me that they pretend like the internet, Facebook and, for the exceptional ID owner, THIS forum exist, and we all know what's going on across the Atlantic.

Does anybody know what's the state of the update in China? Reports a few months ago indicate their buyers may be much more tech-focused than us, and perhaps less regulated re: Ai-type updates.
Just chiming in here. Have to say that the lack of any software update 6 months into ownership is pretty disheartening. When they did release information on it, it was mostly bug fixes with no real new features. So far very disappointing.
