1. I can’t for the love of God keep this car on, yes when I go and sit in the vehicle it’s on but sometimes rather abruptly it just shuts down on me. How can I just leave the AC on and sit in the car without driving

2. And similarly it goes to parking mode when I’m holding the brake pedal. Wth? I was getting my drive through order and it went to Park? I thought it’s because of ECO mode then changed to comfort and I think it worked then it happened again as soon as I lifted my butt to get my wallet. What is this?

3. Also sometimes CarPlay just stops playing music, is anyone else experience that? And it tells me there’s something on the charger pad to remove it. Like bruh I got my phone on that pad only nothing else. For some reason that cubby gets hot like it’s hell in there. No amount of cabin AC can keep this cubby cool. Anyone else?

4. I hear different things about self parking. Can this car self park? If not is it coming with a software update?

5. The proximity sensor when it starts beeping does it mean your too close to something or does it mean you hit something. It scared me couple of times and checked to see but I didn’t hit nothing.

6. The LED strip light on dashboard, I think I notice it sometimes and I don’t see it other times, what’s the deal with that. Or do I not have it because I have the base model. I thought it’s supposed to show turn signals and charging status etc.

Any sort of feedback/answer is appreciated.
Thanks a lot :)

Your post has a lot going on but these two are easy:

4. I hear different things about self parking. Can this car self park? If not is it coming with a software update?
The 2021 ID.4 does not have self park. The 2022 may, but the 2021 will not be getting it via software update. I believe it is missing some hardware.

5. The proximity sensor when it starts beeping does it mean your too close to something or does it mean you hit something. It scared me couple of times and checked to see but I didn’t hit nothing.
It means you are getting close. Even when it's red you have a couple of inches.

1: Don't unbuckle your seat belt. Keep it on. Also, don't open your door. You can also use instant parking climate, but that will turn itself off in 30 minutes.

2: If you don't have a seatbelt on, and you open your door, the car will automatically go into park.

6: If you use CarPlay nav, you don't get ID. Light. Use the internal nav if you want ID. Light. Hopefully that will be fixed soon. Also, the charging light is only on for a few seconds before turning off.

Just to add to #5, the screen shows like three degrees of yellow then red before you actually touch. You kinda get an outside of close line, at close line, inside of close line, then red very close. When I back into my garage, at the entry it lights up red as the front passes the door frame briefly because it passes very close. You also get a directional audible alarm so passenger rear objects will emit from passenger rear and so on depending where the object is. Back into a tight garage and close the door before you press park. The alarms get dizzying.

3. So hot my iPhone recently went into "do not use until cooled down" mode. I no longer use the charge pad and rather connect via lightning -to- USB-C cable.
4. No.
5. Proximity sensors in this and many other brands seem hypersensitive these days. My wife's GLA similar.
6. If you get a bright red light across-the-dash the vehicle thinks you're about to hit something. Recently a pickup truck came at me across the center strip and the driver corrected (texting?) but close enough to activate on me. It gets your attention!!
I like the integral Nav dash directional light when a destination is entered and approaching a turn.
Mine only displays the dash charge lightshow for a little while when it first starts charging and then goes dark thereafter. It's enough that my ChargePoint EVSE pulses green throughout the charge process. Neighbors must think I'm a mad scientist working in my garage all night. Mr. Fusion? :ROFLMAO:
