Are you trolling?Didn't someone say that the 2023 ID4s will ship with 3.0 (or even 3.1)?
I can't wait for VW to start shipping 2023 units to the various car reviewers.
Of course, asking about those who have cars that didn’t come with it.

People have hypothesized that 2023 cars will ship with a "3.2" release, that is described as a bugfix release over 3.1. But that version is not yet fully approved. They are very tight-lipped about what is actually different in that release, however - no reviews, no nothing, but the 2023 cars will be released to customers in Sept/Oct timeframe.Didn't someone say that the 2023 ID4s will ship with 3.0 (or even 3.1)?

This isn’t totally true. Diess said unequivocally that the USA cars would have an update in summer. Of course it looks like that isn’t happening. But to say they have just made aspirational statements is false. As for 2021 cars, nothing much has been said for US market. They have made aspirational statements every now and then that they would like to offer something to us, but no details.
If a single comment on reddit - in which the reply doesn't even specify US - is the only thing one has going, one should be ready to be disappointed. This isn’t totally true. VW, as a company, disappointed me independent of this. But anything a CEO says in public has gone through the PR approval first, especially in a situation such as this. It's not like he was typing the responses personally. And it was in response to a question about the USA, so yes he intended it to be a USA answer. If a single comment on reddit - in which the reply doesn't even specify US - is the only thing one has going, one should be ready to be disappointed.
All true, yet there was ever zero announcements on the official channels - or even the closed Facebook group run by them - about any updates coming to the US.VW, as a company, disappointed me independent of this. Not the only one.All true, yet there was ever zero announcements on the official channels - or even the closed Facebook group run by them - about any updates coming to the US.
Like I said, as that was literally the only thing you had going, you were setting to be disappointed.
If the updates actually were coming to the US, there would have been all kinds of announcements on multiple channels in June or July, the latest.
There was none. It wasn't happening. And as 2.4 times are now booked for November in Europe - where it is supposedly running - I wouldn't bet on a wider release of 3.0 even here before late in the year, let alone in NA.
As we like to say 'round here, the instant NA MY2021 start getting v3.0x updates you'll know as there will be a flood of new threads, far surpassing the number of current inquisitive ones (this one included).
MY2022 (German factory) were held at NA ports for quite some time awaiting v3.1 update (similar to the way MY2021 was held for v2.1). Fortunately that log jam is clearing.
MY2023 are being produced in Chattanooga and will also come with v3.0x software installed.
Only we early adopter, beta testers, who helped VW get this whole ID.4 thing going, are forced to [again] wait. 😒
Ask the forum.I just got my 2022 ID4 yesterday and how to check what software I got
Some people believe that the 2023 cars will have version 3.2, but nobody is saying what is in that version. Plug-and-charge is one thing that people want to know about, for example. Or some kind of preconditioning? That's another one that people are looking for. What I’ve heard last week is they are focusing their efforts on the 2023 launch, apparently Canada has like 10k 2023 customer orders, the US should be considerably more, and they want to make this go as smoothly as possible. That does NOT mean the update isn't being worked on, quite the contrary, just that their communication team is very very busy on other things.
