Any info about the sound system for the ID.4? Will higher trim levels have different sound systems?

Welcome @arfung

It might be listed in this ID.4 Brochure: Volkswagen ID.4 1ST Edition Brochure. I'll try to find one for the U.S. unless someone here beats me to it.
Hey @arfung! It's possible that the ID.4 is going to have a similar sound system as the Skoda Enyaq.

Like the Skoda Enyaq, ID.4 will be available in a variety of engine and battery configurations. The top model gets four-wheel drive and up to 500 km range. But where we know that Enyaq gets Canton sound system as a premium option, we still know little about what kind of sound comes in VW ID.4. But since the smaller ID.3 is offered with an extended stereo system from Beats, it is reasonable to believe that they also have a hand in the game on ID.4. We keep our eyes (and ears) open.

I have the Pro S and also realized that the sound system is quite inferior. Sounds like all is coming from one speaker near the screen. My little bluetooth speaker and fiat 500e have better sound. Pretty sad. No stereo effect or surround sound effect. How could they miss that? No videos for their sound engineer. Sorry.
We all have differing audio system needs and expectations. For me it is adequate but I'm no audiophile, nor do I expect much from a CUV volume, particularly with many irregular hard plastic surfaces.

Did you go thru the various audio system settings?

As far as I know there is only the simple 3 band equilzer and the location setting.
I am also not an audiophil but i have a favorite song and it gives me goosebumps in the other cars not in the Id4 sadly.
I just thought with today's sound processing capabilities u can convert almost anything in to a concert hall.
I saw ready one modification bit it looked very involved to me. Maybe simpler ideas will show up.

I should add.
With more playing i find the Focus works best for me when shifted halfway to rear and equilizer all max but bass only like 7..
Anyway I realize everyone has different expectations.
Yes, many people have confirmed the sound quality is horrible - much worse than expected for a new car at this price.

People have measured the audio response, reported equalizer settings, and reported various upgrades here: Upgrade VW ID.4 sound system
I was disappointed at first but I found the sound improved as the system "broke in". It is still not the best, but I don't think I will upgrade it.

Hm what do u mean with 'broke in' never heard this of a sound system? U run it overnight at full power. Just kidding.

I have noticed the system sounds better with time. I can't find the post, (because maybe it was on another forum) but someone said speakers get looser and sound better with use. It definitely sounds better to me.

It is well known that audio systems sound better after break in; audiophiles have identified this in double-blind tests for decades. The effect is most pronounced for speakers whose suspensions change significantly over 10 - 100 hours of use, but it also applies to electronics.
