Thank you all so so much for your responses on my first post. It was so helpful and looks like I'm going with the First Edition!

I have a Nissan rogue currently and do like the auto dimming feature. I saw the upgrade "auto dimming rearview mirror with Homelink". I have no need for Homelink so that part of the upgrade is not needed for me. So my question is... Does the regular stock mirror have auto dimming? Or is it just the upgraded Homelink mirror that has auto dimming?

Auto-dimming is standard on all US models.

The Homelink mirror of course has a garage door/interior light activation capability, but also a Compass heading.
It's also a "borderless" type so visually a bit bigger (like a newer iPhone without a Home button that uses all of the surface area).

As sprylo cited the OEM [stock] mirror is also auto-dimming.

Not a bad decision. I didn't need the Homelink and I obviously don't need a magnetic compass to find my way, but the aesthetic of the frameless mirror brings an undeniable refined feel to the cabin. It's something that gets looked at constantly. This mirror is the anti-lighted badge! 😎

We bought my daughter a 2019 Jetta SEL Premium which had the HomeLink installed. I nearly swapped it. ;)

I'm finding my remote Velcro'd to the top of the phone charger cubby is more convenient (no chance of finger prints) and more responsive with my Chamberlain garage door opener.
