Investigating what will be needed for a simple subwoofer install. I'm thinking of getting a 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch P300 powered sub and hoping there is a large 12V lug somewhere in the back of the vehicle so I don't have to fish anything through the firewall to the battery.

Is the DC to DC converter located in the rear of the vehicle? Or anything else that might have a beefy 12V+ line?

Is there a harness halfway up the car that might have the rear speaker leads in it, so I can tap off of them for speaker-level input without having to go into the dash?

Down the road I might get the Focal door speakers, but lack of bass at low volume is my current pet peeve and I want something a bit larger than what the Focal sub offers. Thanks!

No, its front and center close to the 12v battery. No beefy 12 to the rear that I have seen. Note all the orange wires are high voltage (400vdc.)

Dang - makes sense that everything is under the hood since we didn’t get a frunk. I’ll plan on wiring it into the distribution block to make it look clean, then.

There is a company here in Norway that builds custom subwoofers for ID4 and Enyaq.

My TTS receiver/subwoofer module was under the front seat (rear seat not an option). Given no substantial 12V to the rear of the ID.4 placing under front or rear seats, wired from the front, are logical places for such a modification.

Check this thread, that part number is part of the Harman Kardon speaker package.

Whelp I made the leap and worked with forum member @BruceLee / "vwautoparts" to go the factory route on the audio system upgrade for the ID.4. After some consideration, I prioritized "keeping it stock" over "best value / best audio quality." Frankly, I don't know what to expect once this is...

It looks like the subwoofer actually goes in the storage compartment under the rear load floor.

In the parts catalog, there is also a subwoofer part #11A035621A, but it also seems associated with the Harman Kardon speakers.
I would assume that these subwoofers need the upgraded amplifier to work.
