Texas reservations - progress?

Hadn't seen whether anyone else in TX has moved to a step later than 3 yet.

My dealer just called me and said mine was entering production. Portal doesn't agree yet, so hopefully his information is good and VW can complete the loop to boost my confidence.

Gave me a very generous timeline for delivery:
3-5 days in Zwickau
7-10 days to Emden
20-25 days across the ocean
10 days in port (Houston)
30 days to dealer (DFW)

I partially believe some of those numbers, but fully expect that some of them should be a lot lower in reality. Instead of 80 days from now, I'm hoping it's less than half that.

I've been watching the shipping. Typically it takes 10-13 days to get from Emden to the US, depending on weather and which port they are going to. It adds another 4-5 days to get from Baltimore to Houston. With a stop or two on the way, shipping times to Houston are in the 18-22 day range.
30 days from Houston to DFW can't be right, 3 maybe with loading/unloading.

Yeah, even the specialist said the 30 days from Houston is crazy. With that estimate of time from Emden to Houston, somewhere around 6 weeks / low 40s (days) seems plausible. I'd hope that every interval quoted is inflated, but I know with batching of deliveries by train, boat, and truck, that can introduce some artificial delay.

I'm at Step 4. It moved on the VW site on 3/4, got a text from the dealer saying it had left the factory on 3/5. Then, when I went to test drive earlier this week, he told me mine had left the factory on 3/13. I'm hoping it's on one of the boats that just made it to Houston. He "conservatively" said I should expect it late April-early May. I didn't get a breakdown of the timing on each step like you did. Hoping it's sooner than that.

My dealer said earlier today that the trucks from Houston (with VW ICE vehicles) takes about 4-5 days to get to the middle of California coast, so it must be a different set of drivers on the Houston to DFW route.

I didn't want to create a standalone hyper-specific self-serving post, so I'll bump this one up. I notice Hendrick VW in Frisco has 6 FEs (plus 1 demo) on their site now which are all presumably ahead of my unlisted VIN.

If anyone on here has already or imminently plans to pick up their FE from this dealer, I'd love to hear your experience to have some idea of what I need to prepare for. Is this a good dealer that won't mess around with rates & additional fees, or will I have to fight for my properly-financed MSRP-valued vehicle?
