Yes I did. In march of 2021 it only took a couple of days to get it. I recently ordered a Nest thermostat from them and it came in less than a week.To briefly change the subject @Spin.
Did you order your L2 charger from PSEG? IF so how long did it take them to ship it?
I ordered a week ago and it still says order processing.
I ordered the JuiceBox40 by the way.
Damn, PSEG taking its time shipping mine.Yes I did. In march of 2021 it only took a couple of days to get it. I recently ordered a Nest thermostat from them and it came in less than a week.
I have to back up my driveway in order to charge. Two problems exist. First it’s a lot more complicated at night. Second , my street is a main cross traffic street in my subdivision. Just when I stop and start to back into the driveway there is often some “donkey” on my bumper.I have a 100' driveway with no place to turn around and its up hill so I would need to turn in the street and then back in, uphill to my garage so its not ideal. It is much easier to pull in head first then back down the driveway, downhill but like I said, the 25' cord solves the issue for us.
Does the garage door not get in the way of the lift gate when you pull in?though lift gate becomes inaccessible in my garage
Agree!Backing into a parking spot > Backing into cross traffic
I reckon this is very regional. We have areas that have both requirements. One place (only one I know of) has angle parking where you are required to back in. Some people are comically bad at it. We have other lots that specify "Nose in parking only" - these tend to be tighter lots. But these are private rules set by the lot, not by law. Conversely, our local Costco has spaces so big you can pretty much open the door 100% and not hit the car next to you. You could probably park an Abrams tank within the lines at Costco.Agree!
Backing up into cross traffic may be illegal depending on you local regulations, it is where I live. And there's an increased risk of at fault collision.
Mine came with a 14-50 plug. Is that what the electrician installed?Damn, PSEG taking its time shipping mine.
I had the electrician in last Tuesday installing the 220 volt outlet in my garage, just need the charger now.
Not a big deal, there are a couple of chargepoint L2 units in my office parking lot, I can always charge at work.
This is a new feature only available on MY23.I don't have my car yet but doesn't the ID4 have memory parking for situations like this if you have to back in to charge at home? I admit I kind of suck at backing up and was hoping this feature would help. Of course you do have to get it right at least once to set it!
Yes, I had him install a NEMA 14-50.Mine came with a 14-50 plug. Is that what the electrician installed?
Cross traffic as in backing out of a drive way into a street or road. That's illegal here.I reckon this is very regional. We have areas that have both requirements. One place (only one I know of) has angle parking where you are required to back in. Some people are comically bad at it. We have other lots that specify "Nose in parking only" - these tend to be tighter lots. But these are private rules set by the lot, not by law. I don't think it's controversial to say that the average driver can more easily pull in forwards to perpendicular spots. Reversing into a defined/confined space is not so easy for some. I'm not aware of any locality near me that forbids reversing out of a parking space. Most lots are on private property, and most street parking is parallel.
I love the charge port location. It works perfectly in my garage side-by-side with the Model Y, using the same EVSE mounted in the middle.it's the damn charging port location...
That's not why the gas tank opening is located on the rear right. It's so that you could pull over and be able to fill the tank from a jerry can without being hit by a passing car. This goes back to when people carried jerry cans with them because there weren't enough gas stations around. History repeats itself except there are no usable jerry cans filled with electrons. However, in the case of the VW, most German ICE cars have the filler access on the right side of the car. That's because the mufflers on most of those cars are on the left side, and for safety, they purposely placed the filler in a location where spilled fuel would not likely come in contact with a hot exhaust system.
Yes when you have split doors this is great spot for this situationI love the charge port location. It works perfectly in my garage side-by-side with the Model Y, using the same EVSE mounted in the middle.
