The range indicator on the dash is a function of your immediate driving history. Give it some time before it settles into more realistic numbers. In EV circles its called a guess-o-meter for a reason.
Thank you, I had no idea. This helps. Sorry for the basic questionThe range indicator on the dash is a function of your immediate driving history. Give it some time before it settles into more realistic numbers. In EV circles its called a guess-o-meter for a reason.
thank you very much for the welcome. I am familiar with the site and did use the search, sadly I did not find an immediate answer to my question. Even tried to word it different ways.Welcome! You're in the right place to get questions answered. Don't forget to use the search function, it's right up there in the middle of the header image. Look for "Search Community." So many questions answered here. I've learned so much!
You'll like the car. There's a steep learning curve, a consequence of buying a new model trying new things, but overall it's a very nice car.
Thank you, good advise about keeping track. Haha sadly nothing was covered by my salesman at the end, it was temporary plates, key, bye. But in all truth I was done at that point, the buying experience was not totally smooth. I survived.Always feel free to ask questions about the car. We are all learning together an it is why this forum is here. I am surprised about the Celsius/Fahrenheit issue - I would have thought that would have been set correctly by the dealer? Might want to mention to service manager on you next visit. Keep track of items you think should have been gone over when car was delivered. Remember that this is a new platform for VW as well so anything we can provide to make the experience better for future customers is a good thing.
My GOM is all over the place as well. Just try to turn the car on and off a few times quickly and you'll see a different range estimate every time. It's voodoo. Or perhaps the ID.4 takes the position of the stars into account. Or perhaps the car need an exorcist, who knows? What I haven't found is a way to show the battery % on the steering wheel screen. That is much more reliable indicator than VW's GOM.The car last night was showing more realistic numbers on a quick run, I was around 200 miles range but then when I got back into my car on the same run it showed 274.
There is a pretty large thread called something like "Questions...and hopefully answers" where a lot of us go to ask tension questions about anything and everything, so if you can't find what you need via the forum search function then that's always a good place to go post your question as well, instead of creating a new thread for each individual question.thank you very much for the welcome. I am familiar with the site and did use the search, sadly I did not find an immediate answer to my question. Even tried to word it different ways.
My Pro S also arrived set to celsius, but I rather enjoy digging through all the menus and perusing the manual. I also spend a lot of time on the forum and always appreciate seeing questions asked and answered.
i have been in this country for 10 years now and i still cant get used to F and still use C on my weather app in my phone. I would be one of the few leaving it at C i guess
Someone mentioned to me that level 2 T chargers are free. I am not talking about the superchargers, I understand that those do not connect using a Tesla tapNew question: I have asked another trip I have still not received an answer. Does anyone know of any video or any instructions to help explain how a regular car connect to a Tesla charger. I understand there are devices called tesla taps that help you connect, I understand that, however what is necessary to work the Tesla charger? Do you need to open an account with Tesla for payment?
The Tesla destination chargers are exactly the same chargers Tesla sells for your home. You just plug in and go - no account/no communication with the car.New question: I have asked another trip I have still not received an answer.
