Haha, I saw that Wednesday in my Google News feed and at first I thought "who else did this?".

Then I figured out they were talking about us! It was actually @JohnnyForElectric 's idea that the Atlas/Tiguan buttons may be a physical fit, and then I did the research on the part numbers and found some that work.

Hopefully they'll do a write-up on Jan's window switches too; He figured all that out by himself, and it's going to be my next mod.

What do you think about the light switch control module? The defroster buttons are redundant with the Infotainment screen and aren't traditionally considered lights. Is there a chance that one of the older "turn the physical knob" style VW headlight control switch modules would fit in the space and be plug compatible?

In fact @Dougie01 that one is done too... :) No More 'REAR' Button! Ultimate Volkswagen VW ID. Four-Window Switch Retrofit (in Audi Style) . We will shoot a dedicated video for that one and I'll do a write-up shortly. I took the Skoda Enyaq headlights switch, removed the Fog light and designed a custom part. This mode DOES require cutting inside of the dashboard trim. The turn-knob-style can be more problematic, the button sits on a LIN bus = 3 wires only (2x power, 1x bus).

...and to answer the next logical question - since I installed the physical buttons from Skoda (Elroq or Enyaq) under the multimedia display, the MAX and REAR buttons are there. The front windshield heating (that I was accidently bumping into it so often) is in the shortcuts menu on the infotainment (swipe down). And yes the Skoda buttons give you working LOCK button too. The challenge is that I had to re-do the entire cover around the screen and the interface with the Skoda buttons (still a design work to improve). No complains and no regrets on this mod :)

Stay tuned for more details as Wes and I continue perfecting this...
