Time from Lock (orderstatuscode 03) to Build (orderstatuscode 15-1,15-2, 20-1)?

So, I'm sitting at orderstatuscode 03 and have been since I locked on August 19th. That's not an unreasonable amount of time, but I'm curious how long it's taken other's cars to go from 03 to the next step. Specifically, How long to go from 03 to 15-1?

i don't see my option listed, it would have been less than a week for sure. First time I used the developer tools was only a few days at the most after locking the order, and it has always been 15-1.

I was on 15-1 for over 3 months, than 15-2 for 14 days. On the last day I got the vin, and the day after I moved to 20-1.

What configuration did you order and when?

Pro S Gradient, RWD. First order on 5/27, then locked on 6/3. Status stayed in 15-1 till 8/23 when it changed to 15-2. Then status 20-1 on 9/6.
Just hit Stage 3 (order Lock) today. Looks like a long 90 day wait lies ahead...
:cautious:
My dates look similar to Ben V's and I've tried to outline the expected timeline in a separate thread. Ordered a Pro S Gradient AWD in late-May and locked mid-June (6/21). I'm not sure when the status changed from 15-1 to 15-2 as it was already 15-2 when I figured out how to check it. Noticed status changed to 20-1 on 9/7 but only got the email that it was leaving the factory on 9/9. Still in 20-1, which I believe suggests it has left the factory but not on a boat yet based on comments from users in other threads here. I'm monitoring vessel activity for stops in Emden to try to figure out what triggers the change to 20-2, which some suggest means it is on a boat.

I locked my order the same day as you, except for a Pro S AWD, non Gradient. I'm still at order locked. Looks like the next ship coming over is the Bishu Highway due in the 29th of September. If my status doesn't change before this ship leaves Germany, is there any chance my car will be inside the Oct-Nov window I'm given?

I'm far from an expert but I can share my thought process on your situation. From the site and looking in the data embedded in the user portal, a delivery estimate of Oct-Nov would suggest Oct 1st to Nov 1st. My delivery estimate says Sept-Oct and the data says estimate start range is 9/1 and end range is 10/1.

Working backwards from there, I believe it should take about a month to get to the dealer.
Approximately 10-days to cross the ocean to get from Emden to Davisville based on latest timeline for Siem Confucius Another 1-2 weeks to get to the dealer depending on where you are located and how far the car needs to travel on land
Another day or 2 for dealer prep.
If I'm not too far off, that would suggest your car needs to have left the factory around Oct 1st and achieved a status of 20-X. I'm unsure how long it takes to get from the factory to the Emden port but I believe another forum member mentioned it was a few hours.

At this point, it seems tight if you ask me. You only have 2 weeks to complete production with the hurdles being chip shortages, an opaque prioritization schedule by VW, and finally the shipping schedule. Here's what I've found when trying to narrow the ships down that might be carrying my ID4.

Siem Confucius - left Emden on 9/3 (super optimistic of us)
Siem Cicero - left Emden on 9/10 (probably more realistic)
Bishu Highway - Arriving in Emden on 9/13 (a possibility)
Siem Aristotle - Arriving in Emden on 9/19 (also a possibility)

Bishu Highway would be my current guess to be carrying my car but I'm still hoping that its either on the Cicero or somehow managed to sneak onto Confucius, which just reached Halifax this morning. Out of curiosity, do you know if you are currently at 15-1 or 15-2?

I am at status code 03, just checked yesterday. :( Not really looking too good for me here, huh?

I wouldn’t think so but who knows? Maybe you’ll luck out. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I’m my case I’ve been locked for a month but my status code is 10, not 03. I hope that‘s not even worse!

I think that it varies. My estimate is Sep-October and my estimated dates are 09-15 to 10-15, so if I'm on the Bishu, I'll probably make that timeline. Just keep track of your estimated dates and try to catch when you move to 15-x.

Interesting. I had apparently incorrectly assumed that September-October was the same estimated date span for everyone that saw that in their portal, based only on my own experience. Thanks for sharing your dates that also correspond to a September-October time frame!

I just went to order status 10 after being in order status 3 since I locked around August 26th. Does anyone know what order code 10 means?

Hmmm. I just changed to 10 today too. Not sure what it means though.
Hmm, me, too. My code is now 10, exactly 14 days after locking to order code 03, which was 7 days after adding the Gradient package to my Pro S AWD. FWIW, I'm in the Mid-Atlantic.

Mine is 10 as well. What does that mean?
I'll join the chorus. My status just changed to code 10 overnight as well. I have ordered an AWD Pro S Dusk Blue. Hopefully this means production will be scheduled soon, which I assume is 15-1.
Does anyone know what order code 10 means?
Its just a sign they keep changing the code on the web page. Its the new, improved code for locked, see:
