Just spoke with the national marketing director of Torklift and he asked if they could use my car for their SEMA booth in Vegas for a week. I love their hitch so I agreed to help them out and will get a rental and compensation for it. I’m guessing I’ll need to pay for gas for the first time since May.
In case anyone is still looking the price has gone up since I bought mine but the hitch is great and very solid.

She’s on the SEMA floor. The rental place had a Kia Niro so we picked it for my replacement. It drives about as well as I imagined a Kia would. I will really appreciate my ID4 when it’s back. The nitpicking members here would destroy the Niro online. Very cluttered cockpit. Brake regen is kinda sloppy as is the steering. Sport mode was jerky. I could go on.

Got my car back tonight and talked with the Marketing Director who set it up. I was thinking the ID.4 would be boring as SEMA with all of the customs, the high end sports cars, jacked jeeps, and the ID.4 being in production for a few months. He said it drew a lot of attention from YouTube influencers who had one on order and general people who came to the booth because they heard it was there. A guy even left his card wanting to buy it. It also was a bit of a feature during the after show parade all of the vehicles take part in. I'm guessing that its the commercial displaying the same model that people recognize.

Does it come with module for trailer ?
Factory has additional module that is paired to the ID4 network and once trailer is hooked it will stay running.
No, it only comes with a replacement for the crash bar (a more robust version with the attachment for the receiver), a brace to make the driver side more rigid and the removable receiver along with assorted hardware.

@Skirmish , do you know if a module could be added?

BTW- Thanks for sharing! I ordered mine after viewing your photos.
That would need to come from VW as I haven’t seen any aftermarket option. I would go to a VW parts desk and get a part number. I’m only using the hitch for a bike rack so I don’t need anything more.

Not to pile onto this thread, but I just installed the torklift hitch on my ID.4 this past weekend. Took about an hour, but I had a lift so add 30 mins if you have to crawl under the car. Would have been a bit faster if I didn't have to remove the mud flaps I had previously installed.

Installed (but before the little antenna).

No trimming required, and this is with the receiver removed.

Long story short, quality hitch, fast install and nothing sticking out if you remove the receiver (single bolt) or very little protrusion if you decide to leave it in.

Nice work! I have zero confidence in my mechanical capabilities. I searched for installers on Torklifts website and found one in San Diego <15 miles away. Quick install and it looks great. I do love the ability to remove the receiver. However, as I’m thinking this out, couldn’t this be a way for a thief to steal a quality bike rack?

Yes a thief could steal a bike rack this way, if you are really worried about it, I suppose you could tack weld the bolt in so it is not easily removable.

Have the AWD Pro S but I’m not inclined to use a 1.25->2.00 adapter for mounting my bike rack and towing my light trailer (requiring overkill 2 5/16 ball). I see Curt has a simple plate with 2” receiver tube attached that simply picks up the bolt holes used by the silly 1.25 receiver (I know, it’s a European thing where very light trailers are the norm) but it’s crazy priced, as much as the whole Torklift hitch (which I have on my Honda Fit and VW Sportwagon). Anybody have a better (cheaper) solution besides buying the entire Torklift? Already made the mistake of paying premium for the 7 pin adapter from VW which is just the $11.00 Pollak adapter you can get anywhere else so just wanting to save $. Thanks

Not sure you priced the torklift lately. I paid $300 shipped to my door back in Sep, but had to wait 6 weeks to get it. However, when I just looked it was almost $500 + shipping. Guess those steel prices and expensive labor are finally making this stuff quite unaffordable. Torklift Central | Search results for: 'X7434S'

The curt adapter can be had for a bit over $100:
