I'm going to guess both battery and frame damage. I had a car get hit in almost the same spot many years ago. Because the damage was to the pillar between the doors, State Farm totaled a 2-year old car with not much more cosmetic damage than this one has.

I just want the rear crossmember. I need that hitch! Also, don’t take any parts prices for actual. Most ID4 parts aren’t available yet so pricing is all over the place. I took the part number for the crossmember to the parts counter and their computer has it listed over $1200. Their website has it for $450, list is over $700 and you can’t buy one yet.

I used to total cars for an insurance company for a living. This car needs parts, not just repairs, and on a brand new, foreign-built model, in an already stressed supply chain situation, I guarantee you the shop could not yet source new doors, rockers, and if the damage was extensive enough, a battery pack. I'd also be curious to know if there are any shops even qualified or willing to attempt a battery swap at this point.

Anyway, the fact that there are no deployed airbags and that they didn't perform a full teardown of the carpet and interior trim makes me think they didnt bother checking for battery/frame damage because they already knew they couldn't get the exterior parts and could total it based on that. To claim a total based on frame and battery damage that's unrepairable you'd have to show it, and that would require teardown. If this was a brand new top-of-the-line Honda CRV with that type of impact it would not have been a total loss without it. I could have written a repair bill based on what I could see up to 70% of the value of the vehicle and we would have still paid the shop for a full teardown, reassess the repair estimate and see if it still manages to come in below 80% of the vehicle value.

That or the battery housing was visibly impacted from below the car, which means that was a hell of an impact and the car was off at the time (hence no airbags).

There are a set of dusk blue doors available on allegro.pl right now. Shipping would be tricky, but it is doable if someone could get the car for the right price. There might be a dent on the battery structure, but I bet if there was any serious battery damage it would not let itself start.
