I just completed a toe trip. 500 miles with a 2000 pound trailer and very pleased with the results. Great performance and B mode is like air brakes ! The ranges what I expected that about 50%. But the residual item that I am looking for commentary on is my range indicator in mileage is remaining very low and not the 260 mile estimated range. So it is at 80% charge still only showing a 150 mile range like it is stuck in reading the tow mode. Thoughts ?

I'm pretty sure you can reset the stats from the main settings menu. My assumption is that the range estimator is using the 'long-term' data section, which, if reset, should get you back to normal.

The fact is that a local tow at least with a 2000 lb payload is very reasonable but anything requiring on trip public charge is not practical imho. I have plotted waypoints on 95 between Philly and NC and Electrify America is well distributed at Walmart on the route BUT a trailer in tow is a real shi.. show ! Dropping the trailer to charge is enough to fail a mental exam ! So my rule of thumb is towing full load up to 75 mi one way. hope that helps establishing reasonable paratmeters.

I am continually sad that most public chargers (including a lot of EA chargers...) seem to be setup for pull in forwards charging. But the ID.4 put the charge port on the side in the back.

I would have loved a charge port under the VW logo on the front. I dont know the practicality of having Both, but I still think making it look like a gas tank was silly.

Public chargers can't accommodate for all the different charge port location from different manufacturers.

It would be cool to have dual ports! I back in at home regardless but on public front is safer and practical.
