I am pleased to announce my first long distance tow trip. I'm towing my 5x8 cargo trailer fully loaded with track motorcycle weighing in at 1980 lbs dry. My route is Ocean City. NJ to Circuit of the America's, Austin TX via Nashville, TN. Route milage is 3500 mi. Departure is June 15th. I feel more confident in EV than air-cooled! Looks like Electrify America's network has my routes decently covered. I'll be posting pics on ig: @Ocsurfer59.

Have you made a run yet with this rig to check the range? I bet most of us would like to have some idea of what the towing range is. I'm guessing at that weight, you'd be lucky to get 100 miles at highway speeds.

I am waiting on my 7 pin adapter from dealer ; I have done a 40 mile highway practice run with battery light temps on trailer and if my calculation was right I expect to range about 50% or 130 mi / 90% charge. I'm a touring MC rider so I am used to pit stop every 3 hours to stretch. From an auto standpoint it is no doubt require excessive charging pits ! My E350 Mercedes tows at 12mpg so i expect to save $1000 in fuel or a night in the Austin Four Seasons :) ! I am towing a 250 MI track event to CT and will better validate results.

Following along on Instagram in anticipation. Looking forward to your reports! I know the ID.4 has a towing mode that engages when you connect the trailer wiring, which affects things like the backup camera, stability control, etc., but I wonder if the towing mode affects things like battery cooling and other things to optimize range while towing.
