I just got my id4 pro and there was no tow hitch installed. I asked the dealership to order one for me and they told me that the car isn't designed to tow any thing. I emailed vw north America and complained because I had purchased the car thinking I would be able to tow a small light trailer. I am very disappointed with thier advertising of this capability but not delivering it to me. I went back onto the website to see if there was any indication that I could choose a tow package on the pro series and there is not. They either did this on purpose or are so unconcerned with the customer that they don't care about complaints.

Since I placed my reservation in December, the spec lists have been pretty clear that the RWD Pro models do not have a hitch receiver, only 1st Edition and AWD Pro. Sorry you missed this distinction. It's the main reason I reserved an AWD and then switched to 1st Edition when more became available in January.

I wish I would have seen that. I tried to get a first addition but missed it. I will add an after market hitch when they come out. There are advertisements indicating the rwd model pulls 2200 lbs. Same drive train and battery pack I think they are just making it more profitable.
