Trailer Hitch - Sighted on 1st Edition

Thanks to @FASTGOLFR32, we now have our "first" photo showing the trailer hitch. It doesn't look as bad as I feared here, but photo angle and the black asphalt background do help hide it.

It was a little itty bitty Class 1. I will put a thread up with my impressions soon. I unfortunately didn't get too many good pictures as there was always a group of folks looking it over.

Great. Thanks! Looking forward to your post.
Thanks for posting. It looks better than anything I could install aftermarket and even better that it comes with the 1st Edition.
I made a post and replied to it with more pictures. Now, I don't see it any longer.

I saw the title get posted and before I could open the thread it was gone. I thought you pulled it.

Dang, I spent some time on that. I didn't pull it.

Nice photos. Hopefully @administrator can get it back.
Thanks for the video, too bad we don't get that trailer hitch here in the US. I liked the roof rack, hadn't seen that before.
We get a trailer hitch receiver, it is bolted in place. Not one that swings out of sight.

Did you happen to notice if it was pre wired to accept male plug in for connecting lights to trailer?

VW advertises the hitch as supporting a braked trailer so the connector will be there. I've never seen an image yet that shows the connector on the US trailer receiver, although I've seen photos that show it on the EU hitch.

Thanks for the pics and providing a child for scale :) Honestly, in most of the promo photos and videos I've seen it's hard to get a sense of the ID.4's size. It often looks...small. But seeing these pictures give a better sense of its size.

So it seems like 1-1/4" size unless I am mistaken. Do we know if 2" option would be available? All my gear is prepared for 2" receiver, mainly since that is what comes by default with Q5 I am now using. Re-buying everything would be a pain in the bottom, and I am not a great fan of adapters
I also wish it was a 2". Lucky I only need it for ~2700lbs so 1 1/4" still has the rating I need. If you use an adapter (1-1/4" to 2") it will greatly reduce your tow rating. If I am stuck with 1-1/4" on the ID4 I will simply get a new 1-1/4" hitch and the same ball size I currently use on the 2" hitch I use today. Until I see how far the ID4 can travel while towing I will be keeping my old SUV too.
