I gave my dealer a list of the MDO options I wanted and he said he would try to get them on when he got the build sheet. Mine is now on the boat over and I have not heard a word from him.....sigh

Since MDO's are effectively coming from the parts department, I like to ask for them rather than order them. I think that's where we might get to negotiate.

Im praying there's a major Car-Net app update in the near future. It's absolutely terrible to use with my e-golf, although in recent weeks the communication between phone -> car has improved. Still terribly slow.

When I've bought cars in the past, including VW's, the MDO's that showed on the Monroney were port-installed. There were other MDO's that the dealer itself installed, too. Not a dealer, so can't speak about why they were able to add the MDO's and you can't.

That FB user also posted a screen shot of production information, which is pretty interesting. This would have been carried on the Aristotle and just arrived at Baltimore yesterday. His production sequence is 477 units behind mine.

VW should give us the We Connect app instead. The Europeans have it and seems to have a whole lot more functionality. I've been using Car-Net for 4 years now and it leaves a lot to be desired. The latest updates have been a disaster, requiring entering user name and password twice to access the app features. This seems like another option left out of the US market

I dunno, I'd let @ID.Furkan comment on that. It seems pretty lame and limited ATM.

Looks like the Car-Net Android app updated yesterday. I wonder if this added features for the ID.4. I have a VIN, but cannot add a car to my garage without the QR from the infotainment.

Car-Net was also updated today on iPhone IOS. BTW, you will also require a VW account number and setup a PIN to access Car-Net. You get that when you receive your car.

I still use car-net everyday to pre-condition before I leave work, or randomly leave the house. I don't keep a departure time active because I don't have a set schedule, but if I leave the app open (iOS) after I have enabled climate it works. If I enable climate move to another app it never works in the background. Also the log in procedure is annoying, at least i can use face ID. Anyways.... I hope for the best.

Sweet i'm in the Baltimore area! My rep called me 3/1 said I have a vin allocated. Although he made it sound like the ship was already in port waiting for release.

I don't have the same experience with Car-Net. Mine uses FaceID to log me into the app, then I choose which car I want to access, and then it uses FaceID to access that car. The only time I have to enter anything manually, is if I want to remote start a car (have to enter my PIN). Otherwise, the only other time I have to manually enter anything is if the phone or app updates and I'm logged out for some reason.

I am surprised at only 7 days between "Frozen to Changes" to "Production Complete".
What are the chances that if an AWD ID.4 buyer confirms their order by 19-March if production will be complete 7 days later. Okay... I know, wishful thinking.
It is a bit strange that "Order Created" happened in July of 2020, before the reservation system was opened!!??
So many questions, so few answers

The First Editions were preconfigured with no package options. VoA would have determined in July what they would be and ordered builds of the prototypes that were used at launch.
