So, car was sitting at the airport for three weeks and a day. Left with 48 % charge, no change. Lost 3km (~2mi) of range on GOM.

Brakes were kinda noisy on departure, a few sharp decelarations on N cleared them right up.

Offered a small OTA on the way home, which installed in a few seconds or so.

Next day, OTA to 3.8 (officially 3.8.1, as 3.8.2 does exist but is N/A to most cars) offered several times, but when finally done for the day, had to resort to the ”90 second trick” to get the car to offer update. Battery at 77 %, 12V in good condition after a long 3,7kW charging session from 40 to 80 %.

Supposed to take 2 hours, but car popped back online (visible in the app) after 1:50. Contrary to previous updates, the car was updating the app, KESSY worked immediately and no settings were reset. Earlier there was no way to know if the update was done, as connection was re-established after first boot up only.

Jump in the car and as reported, on-line was ”edge” meaning 2.5G only. Drove for a few minutes, connection came back, update was finalized and another small OTA to enable the Shop was installed. Turn car off - again, as expected - and back on, install three apps that vanished with the update (again, expected), car wants to download the manual and everything is fine.

In-car app now says 3.8.

The only relevant fix for me would be finally, after two years and two months, fixing the SOS dying in certain locations. Have not had the chance to test, but will drive through a highway that has had 100 % kill rate tomorrow, so I’ll see if the issue is finally gone.

There are some reports of the update breaking the SOS module on the FB Group (official), but no bricked cars.
What is the 90 second trick?
