My VW App updated on my Android phone on 3/16/23. Has anyone noticed improved performance?

I've noticed the following;

1. Range vs % SOC reads properly now
2. Commands to car work faster and reliably
3. New Car-net plans available?
a. Plus Online Radio-is this available without a verizon data plan?
b. Plus Premium Nav Subscription-what is this beyond plus Nav 3 years free
c. Plus premium-what is this beyond plus speech 3 years free

Thanks

I can confirm that is the version I have. Whether it is update or not I don't know, I did not check for the version earlier.

However it no longer works at all for me. Before it at least allowed me to turn on the climate control to warm up the car. Now it just says "error updating"

Thanks for the heads up! I just installed the iPhone version immediately upon reading this. I hope it helps with my constant settings resets (grasping at straws here).

But anyway, I can confirm that the estimated range displayed on the app is accurate now (matches what the car shows). That's cool!

I'm not seeing the additional Car-Net plans though. Mine still just shows:

Available Plans
  • Safe & Secure
  • Verizon Wi-Fi Trial
  • Wi-Fi Hotspot
Current Plans
  • Remote Access
  • Plus Nav
  • Plus Speech

App does seem a little zippier overall, and definitely connects to the car faster.

My SOC still massively low on app versus on the vehicle with this new update and Samsung Android 13 cell phone (139 miles vs 217 miles @ 80% SOC)
That is normal. Mine sometimes shows the correct SOC when it gets the "charge session ended" message, but then it reverts to the lower number. The % value is the one that matters, and you know about how many miles that should give. The displayed guesstimate of miles is highly variable as we all know.

I never had an estimated remaining mileage display in my ICE vehicles and that never seemed to bother me. I knew what I could expect from a tank of gas. Now that I see the miles on the guess-ometer it's just another statistic to obsess over.

I found one difference… my 2021 reported when the charging session ended. In the past I would only get the alert when it started, and it wouldn’t alert when it ended unless the car was on when it ended for another reason (such as the climate was on).

Yes, I've been getting better results with the charging start/stop notifications too, that started with the last update a few weeks ago. I also noticed that when I start the climate remotely, it throws out two notifications, one to say the ventilation has started, and then one to say the heat has started. I could be wrong, but I don't remember it doing that before, I think it just used to say climate started or something.

I have seen that for a while… the second one says what it’s actually doing… sometimes heating, ventilating or cooling,
