I cannot find the Data/Options sticker with coding for everything that is on the car.

Check the maintenance schedule book. Unless VW has changed the format, the Mfr VIN data and bar code label is attached on P1.

That must have been the VW-badged Audi V8 4.2 L, wasn't it?

Tks for the info, but I didn't know it has the 5-valve/cyl. head? The 330 bhp must be the S8 engine.

IMHO, it should have had the Phaeton nameplate from the beginning and no VW logos visibly throughout the car. It would have been successful by separating from VW and having its dealership network. That's how Lexus, Infinity, Genesis etc. did it.

Have you needed any carbon buildup cleaning (manual or chemical-automated)?

I really should have spent the money and got the V8 in the Audi S5. The then new turbo-4 in my 2011 A5 was responsive (especially with a tune) and a lot lighter, but nothing like a naturally aspirated V8.

IINM, that was the pre-FSI V8 PFI engine, so there's no issues with carbon build-up.

Y, agreed. Especially the flat-plane crankshaft V8 4.2 RS engine.

The real stuff! That's a very clean cylinder head. You must be using synthetic oil to get those mirror finished wear on the cam lobes.
