What happens if you connect wirelessly to android auto. I've connected both wirelessly and with a cable (only once) and both worked correctly. But I prefer connecting wirelessly.
I've also had odd behavior w/ the parking assist camera display. It often will leave the camera display on after backing up and then shifting into drive and moving forward. Have to "X" out of the reverse camera.
I've seen very inconsistent behavior with Android Auto. Sometimes it works perfectly for days and other times it will randomly switch to another phone, not connect at all, or stops working and then starts again. It's hard to describe b/c it does odd things at odd times. It does seem to be confused w/ or by the hot spot feature but not sure.
The rear camera stays on until the forward speed exceeds 10mph. This is to prevent the camera from switching off and on while maneuvering into a parallel parking spot for example.
Thanks! Good to know this is a feature not a bugI might probably should read the manual huh...
Disappointing to hear about all the ID4 problems. Hopefully VW can fix those issues in the next few years.
Yes, sounds like we are still beta testing this for VW. That's the curse of early adopters. Good thing is it can only get better (hopefully?)...
I just wish early on they would commit to more frequent updates to fix these bugs. Every 12 weeks can happen when things are more stable.
One thing to keep in mind regarding update cycles. A car is not a phone. A phone if it has the wrong bug patch or feature enablement will not possibly kill someone. So I am cognizant of the need of a vendor new to the Constant Improvement cycle of not creating a deadly situation to meet the needs of anxious clients.
And as has been stated many times, we are opting to be the Beta Testers of not just a new vehicle, but a new platform. Exciting times ...
