Yes. A couple times he seemed to be expecting one thing and then being positively impressed when he saw something else.Did anyone else get the impression that he was surprised he liked the ID.4?
Yes. I've not watched one of his videos before, but it seems he did little homework prior to making the video. Maybe it's his thing to have more of a "first impression" view. Manually opening the liftgate was pretty silly.Did anyone else get the impression that he was surprised he liked the ID.4?
He was definitely looking for something wrong and couldn’t find anything. That’s good. You need someone with that perspective to see how the car really is 😎Yes. He seemed like a klutz. I am surprised since he has a great automotive reputation.Yes. I've not watched one of his videos before, but it seems he did little homework prior to making the video. I think thats mostly because he seems to get a lot of attention from tesla fanboys. They look to him for external validation and he gives them that.Recently he has become somewhat of a Tesla fanboy, so I had sort of stopped paying attention to him.
He seemed surprised that the fit and finish was good, and perhaps that's because he became accustomed to the mediocre fit and finish in Tesla.
Yes. He made such comments several times.Did anyone else get the impression that he was surprised he liked the ID.4?
He is getting older and it was obvious he did no research on the vehicle whatsoever prior to his review session. He seemed like a klutz. I am surprised since he has a great automotive reputation.
He made it look like it was a paddle shiftDid anyone else notice he operated the shifter without taking his hands off the wheel? I just tried that and it works!
Lol. Let me make an unnecessary ageist comment then explain that "First Impressions" was a apt title for the video. He is getting older and it was obvious he did no research on the vehicle whatsoever prior to his review session.
I did notice that! I doubt I'll use it that way most of the time but it could be useful if I'm "in a hurry" switching between D and R for whatever reason.Did anyone else notice he operated the shifter without taking his hands off the wheel? I just tried that and it works!
considering the number of vehicles he has assessed over his career I would not expect him to be surprised that a VAG car has excellent tolerances. I know why you would be left with this impression though! Maybe he doesn’t have much experience with foreign car companies but I have never heard of modern fords having problems.Recently he has become somewhat of a Tesla fanboy, so I had sort of stopped paying attention to him.

He was treating it like one intentionally. He commented that it reminded him of a paddle shifter. I don't exactly hit it like that but I do slap it relatively quickly but the last few VW's of mine have had paddle shiftersHe made it look like it was a paddle shift
I do agree with your opinion on this. I think the "surprise" was more about his personal opinion that he doesn't like VW's as a car that much but was genuinely impressed by it. It's also true that every car manufacturer is having to dig deep to hit these price points so all of them are compromising somewhere or another. VW has done a really good job on the how and where on this iteration. I mean, this is like barely $10K more than an eGolf!considering the number of vehicles he has assessed over his career I would not expect him to be surprised that a VAG car has excellent tolerances. He sounds disappointed that it isn't more like a Tesla, and that it doesn't have a frunk. Sigh.Second video
