Vehicle To Load (aka Bi-directional charging)?

I was watching a video from Tom Moloughney (
) at the 6:00 point he goes to describe the Vehicle to Load adaptor for running things like camping lights or laptops. Ford is planning on this for their F-150.

Does anyone know if VW is going to follow or allow for an update that would allow us to do the same with our ID's

My understanding is that this isn't a simple software update, that there is an additional (or modified) inverter involved. Perhaps in future models, but not ours.

VW has mentioned that vehicle to load/grid is coming on 2022 model cars. Probably too complex for an update. See:

You can always attach an inverter to your 12V. Not as elegant but works.
