My Verizon hot spot appears to be poorly working. The car is having trouble communicating with the central computers

Anyone else having problems with the Verizon Hotspot?

My cell phone is having problems with 5G

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

The ID.4's cellular radio is 4G.

Is Car Net not communicating between your phone and car? Is your hotspot data dropping out providing an unreliable connection to whatever device you have connected to it?

Could be related, could be different things. Phone (app) > network > VW servers > network > car LTE radio > wifi router > device -- not that those work all together in that order, but that's illustrating the various places comms can break down.

Or you're just in a dead cellular coverage area.

I looked at the hotspot option for about 30 seconds, then decided to just use the phones' own connection. They are trouble free and familiar. Sorry that doesn't help you directly with your issues of course.

Could you elaborate a bit on how you "use the phone's own connection?" I've been trying to do this and I can't figure out how to accomplish it. I try to turn off the wifi hotspot and then it disconnects Carplay. I know Carplay will work without the hotspot but how does one do that?

Are you still in the Verizon 1 GB trial period? I didn't find a way to avoid using the trial data either. I just waited until I used up the trial data, then the phone started using its own data. The day the trial data runs out, I believe you need to go into your phone's wifi settings and "forget" the car's wifi.

The speed is horrible thru Verizon. Most of my devices say "connected with out internet" or when the connection comes up on the list it says no internet available. I don't have unlimited on my phones. My toyota had att and it was great.

I sort of thought this might be the case. Thanks for tip on "forgetting" the wifi when the trial ends. I am still on the trial period so I'll just wait it out.
