Curb weight of 4163 lbs (2124 kg) is not not too much more than 3,814 lb for our SEL Premium AWD Tiguan

Actually, I have a reservation for a black first edition, because blue was already gone. I did reach out to their support and now have a note on my reservation that I want blue if one frees up.
Still jealous of EU folks who get more colors than we do here.

Good luck!

What delivery timeline and other details did VW provide you with so far?

Europe has the strongest EV market yet.
Its expected that they get more options and should continue to till other markets improve. Automakers are still very focused on the U.S. so it might just be a matter of patience I hope.

I have no delivery or other details as of yet. My reservation is official and confirmed, that’s all.
I do hope that talk of VW having to deliver a new EV model in California in 2020 is correct and I can expect the car thus year instead of first quarter 2021.

You are right about the more evolved European EV market, thanks to their strong regulations. On the other hand, I think the ID.4 pricing we got here in the US is nothing short of spectacular. It took me all of five minutes to jump on it. If we had EU pricing I’d be on the fence for sure.

500km equals 310 mile range. I think VW is underestimating because of scandal.
Thoughts.........
The difference is mostly WLTP vs EPA range. The e-tron has a WLTP rating of 400 km vs EPA of 204 miles - using the same conversion factor would put the 500 km WLTP at 255 miles. The conversion is not consistent from manufacturer to manufacturer so figure Audi would be the closest comparable to VW.

It's still crazy to me how different the EPA and WLTP ratings are for cars.
