We have new spy photos out that appear to show the ID.4 GTX undergoing winter testing. This ID.4 has LED lights partly covered up in the front bumper that haven’t seen on any ID.4s before.

The GTX will have a dual-motor set-up with 302 horsepower giving it a 0-62 mph time of 6.2 seconds. It's expected to come with restyled bumpers, new wheel designs, performance oriented tires, unique interior trims and a series of chassis updates to give it a lower ride height and sportier ride.

Those just look like screen shots from "Testing ID.4 in Scandinavia" video.

Hopefully this link will work.

If we do get the GTX I hope it is around the $45k mark for the base model with upgraded suspension, wheels and seats. Figure that the heated W/S and hitch may not be standard like it is on the AWD version. Would love to see the European ID.4 Max seats in it (see below picture).

It's a $5,500 jump from a base Golf to base GTI. I'd put this a little over $50k.

I'd say that is a fair price considering how the Model Y and Mach-E are priced to start.

on a related note, If the interior of the black/brown looks like that, I am happy. I hope to see it in person soonish.

I don't think those are "partially covered" fog lights. Those little lighting elements are the lights. New generation GTI has that feature.

The GTI is not a concept; it's already on the road in Europe. The article linked below says the car was to be introduced at the March 2020 Geneva Motor Show, although the show did not happen. If you search for the 2021 GTI, there are loads of images. At this point, it looks like the US model will be a 2022.
