This should be easier. They want to sell 100,000, I think I might want to buy 1.

That is depressing. 100k worldwide. Of which 2/3 will stay in Europe and the rest for U.S. & China (I am assuming they are including Canada as part of the U.S.). Of the remaining third, I am guessing China will probably get more than the U.S. which would likely leave less than 10k for the year.

More disturbing is this comment: "It is noted that sales of the ID.4 will begin in Europe and China in March, and shipments will begin mid-year." I am hoping that is just lazy reporting but if Europe is not getting the ID.4 until mid-year, we can add a few months for U.S. shipments.

I am curious how the chip shortage will impact US ID.4 deliveries. 100k worldwide deliveries might be overly optimistic at this point
I thought this was a new story, but maybe it is just another rehash and more distribution of the VW Feb 2 press release that we discussed last week (the one that started the port hunt which ended in Davisville, RI) - Even more boost for the Volkswagen electric offensive: World car ID.4 now on the way to the world markets

The consensus seems to be that we are still on track FE for March, with FE possibly lagging now March to May, or all at once. The big mystery continues.
I'm thinking/guessing that nothing will move in the US until the ME2.1 software is released. Based on photos, there is a bunch of 1st editions sitting in Rhode Island. I doubt they can load the software in all those cars in a reasonable amount of time. Once the software is released, the cars will move to dealers to have the software loaded at the dealers and cars then delivered. Hopefully none of them will be bricked like the ID.3 in the UK was.

The claim is that 2.0 was a monster update (someone somewhere said 20Gb). 2.1 is supposed to be far smaller.
