The ID.Buzz first drives have begun! Looks it's not just Spain that's getting them, it's the UK as well.

Yes, very historical VW Bus-like in overall appearance, which of course was their design intention for the new Buzz. (y)

But with the prior Bus, and thankfully not the Buzz, your legs were essentially the front bumper crush zone.

One would hope that the 2022 NHTSA and IIHS safety rules would apply. Can you imagine if that were NOT the case and it fails horribly on both sets of tests???? THE END!

While the production model is much different than the prototype we saw for a few years it is still a winner. Whether or not people will pay $60-$70,000 is another story. If it comes in reasonably equipped at $55,000 it might be a huge hit. I am basing my opinion on the fact that in the last quarter of 2021 GM announced the average sales transaction was $56,000. That amount is WAAAY more than my practical, trendy, brand new 1965 green Beetle. Out the door new from Holbert's Garage VW @$1,965. Of course that is the equivalent of $17,391.93 today adjusted for inflation.

The minivan market (prior to chip shortage) was getting stronger. Hence the new offerings from Toyota, Kia and now VW.
