The iD6 appears to perform better than Tesla in this head to head crash test:

The loose wires in front of Tesla are the biggest differentiator I guess. Maybe someone who knows Chinese can chime in.

Fact that the doors don’t open on the Tesla shows heavier structural damage. Just imagine trying to step out after a crash like this and you can’t…

And during the full dissambly, significant damage to the model S battery compartment becomes visible:

To me the ID.6 is the clear winner here

And the newer Austin built Model Y will use the 4680 batteries as structure (removing the current frame over the batteries). Might be even less safe

New front and rear castings too. Trying to shave up to 400lbs I hear.

Too bad the ID.6 is only available in China. Seems like a SUV that would be a hit here.

That looks consistent with the IIHS testing as well where there was one 'average' for lower leg/foot encroachment for the driver. Though they've only done the Model 3 and not yet the Y. 2021 Tesla Model 3 (iihs.org)

The ID.4 on the other hand got greens (good) across all dimensions. 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 (iihs.org)

NHTSA doesn't do small overlap testing, so their results don't really apply here.

Oh, and you wouldn't know it from the rating, but the VW arguably scored slightly better on 2 of the crash avoidance tests as well with completely avoiding a crash in the case of a crossing child or adult walking into the line of the car. The Tesla slowed but ultimately still hit the child at 2 mph.

Apparently, the Tesla high beams are quite a bit better than the VW though.

In the US maybe, but the matrix IQ.Lights with European firmware are the best I've ever seen. I am in awe every time i drive that puppy in the dark.
Tried to video it, but it's hard to capture the brillliance of this solution

You guys have had all the cool American muscle cars for years :)
Am sure they'll add more features once the shortage is over and the US Factory is up to steam.
am still hoping they'll add it in 2.3 for the US too
I would take some strange/cool European hatchback over a America Muscle car everyday of the week. Unlike Vin Diesel I don’t live 1/4 mile at a time.

You guys get all the cool new EVs before us too.
