I started with the free trial for infotainment hotspot now that the trial is over, there is no longer a network plan. I just want to connect to CarPlay with my phone via Bluetooth and not the WiFi because when I do my phone is unable to connect to the internet because it keeps attempting through the WiFi connection. The infotainment is also very inconsistent. I can sometimes turn off the hotspot and still connect to CarPlay and other times it seems I MUST turn on the hotspot in order to connect to CarPlay. This is getting very frustrating. Does anyone know a solution to this?

Try forgetting the hotspot on your iPhone.
CarPlay establishes an AdHoc network on the fly when it connects, the existence to the remembered HotSpot network might be causing problems.
