Anyone else feeling my pain? I have not received a VIN number for my FE ordered on 9/23/2020 (12:30 pm EST). I contacted my dealer last week (Sarasota, FL) and they have no notification on arriving US FEs or VIN numbers. I contacted VWOA Customer Service today and the Party Line is US dealers will not have Customer US FE VIN numbers before the Customer is notified through the Owner Reservation Portal. I explained that the Portal seemed useless given the number of other US FE Customers saying they are being notified by their dealers around the country. I have seen a Florida Customer in St Petersburg stating they have been notified by their dealer having his VIN number. According to VWOA Customer Service they stated the only US FE VIN numbers US Dealers could receive before customer notification would be for demo vehicles and that US Customer FEs would start arriving mid March. I find VWs communication in this whole process to be extremely confusing and frustrating for all us of trying to plan for the purchase of our FEs that could be less than a month away.

From my salesperson, I have an image of a print-out with a VIN number. He's been selling VW for over 25 years, so I have to believe he knows what he's doing.

I agree. It just seems that VW does not have a system in place that is understood by both dealers and customers. If you believe what VWOA customer service said to me today, the system has to be broken otherwise we would all be getting the same info.

Tell me about, not only does the dealer never reply to me, but I have yet to get even the roadshow email. When I went into the dealership a few weeks ago to ask someone about what's going on, they said they haven't even been trained yet and there was no EV Specialist. Umm...

Sounds like you need to find a different dealership.

I might. I'm worried now with the FE almost here (hopefully) something is going to get messed up if I switch dealers.
When I talked with VW Customer Care 2 months ago, they told me I could change dealerships up until the point the car arrived at the dealer.

I’m in the same situation. Reservation placed on the 23th at 1:44 PM. Website has not updated and my dealership is saying that they have no updates so going by the website they believe my FE has not even started production.
Interestingly they said they see 3 id4s of the same color of my preorder assigned to their dealership with dates and VINs but none are assigned to me.
He also said that his expectation is that because east and west coast get priority I should expect a q2 delivery in Texas.

The system really seems broken for how they are getting notifications done. A VW Transport ship docked in Houston, Texas yesterday and off loaded a bunch of vehicles and some one posted that their dealer called a said his FE was in Port at Houston w/VIN. Supposedly on hold until prepped w/software. So confusing one does not know what to believe. Good luck!
